Hello! We are Year 8-9!
There are 11 students in our class and, although we work well in groups, we recognise that we all have different strengths. To reflect this, our timetable for this year will take us from Key Stage 3 to the all-important Key Stage 4 and is varied and exciting.
We all have core lessons in English, Maths and Science that challenge us and push us to reach our individual potential, whether that be an Entry Level Certificate or a GCSE. However, those of us in year 9 are now also undertaking vocational BTEC qualifications in subjects such as Drama, Horticulture, IT and Leisure that involve weekly trips to study at Halesowen College and Halesowen Leisure Centre. During these trips, the rest of us in year 8 are using the time and space to study history and geography and to sharpen our team-game skills in PE.
Despite all these new opportunities, we remain a close, friendly group, and enjoy supporting each other when we focus on developing our social skills during form time.
We hope that this introduction has given you an idea of who we are. If you want to know more, please feel free to contact our TA, Mrs Ralphs, or our form tutor, Mr Wood.
